Just 39 miles today from Camp Wood TX to Vanderpool TX, but we're in "hill country" so climbed 3500 feet. It was a great day! A rather big thunder, lightening and rain storm moved through last night. We got lucky today. It was cool (max 10C), overcast and a bit windy but very little rain and pretty sweet conditions for climbing. The scenery was lovely - heavily forested rolling hills all around. The ride was a lot of fun, with quiet roads and an OK surface. Again, not much civilization along the route. We passed through the booming metropolis of Leakey on our route and are staying tonight at the Fox Fire Cabins on the Sabinal River. There are five of us in the cozy Peach Tree house. Life is good!

Looks like beautiful country. I like desert, but I like trees much better... Glad you had a good day!
