Double Diaper

I know that anyone who is reading this regularly just can't wait for an update on my tender tush :) So - first things first. For the first time in my life I pulled on two pair of bike shorts. That, together with the fact that the chip seal was marginally less offensive today, made for a rather enjoyable ride. It was a very humid day, but thankfully overcast and cool with the temp maxing out about 20C. We rode from Fort Clark Springs TX to Camp Wood TX. Not much in the way of civilization in between, but there are an increasing number of ranches - cattle, goat and sheep. The trees are getting bigger and some of them are just starting to leaf-out in that vibrant bright green shade of spring foliage. We are starting to see rather large hills on the horizon. An indication, perhaps, of entering Texas "hill country". A fairly easy and uneventful 49 miles with 1400 feet of climbing with half headwind and half tailwind. A bit of much-needed rain before dinner; we'll see what tomorrow holds....... All in all another great day!

Pictures below are: goats along the road, crossing the Nueces River and a wonderful little quilt shop in the booming metropolis of Camp Wood (pop 706).
