I tried to post this last night, but it didn't go. I'll delete a few of the pictures and try again........
This appears to be turning into a bit of a pie shop tour. Cherry pie and ice cream today, pecan pie yesterday and apple boysenberry and ice cream on a previous day. Yum, yum; why aren't my clothes getting any looser??
I didn't get a chance to post anything yesterday because we were staying in the small town of Salome AZ without good internet service. So - let's see if I can remember what we did. What had our first state border crossing early in the AM. We crossed the Colorado River from California to Arizona (pictures below). We spent about 30 miles on the interstate (I-10), which had the upside of wide shoulders and gentle grades but the downside of lots of transport truck traffic and shredded tire bits all over the shoulders. We travelled through beautiful but stark desert landscape. Lots of cactus in the foreground and beautiful mountain ranges in the background. Lots of RV parks. I'm not sure what people do for entertainment but I guess maybe they're pretty desperate to escape the northern winters. Overall it was a pretty easy day. 62 miles and 3100 feet of climbing. The temperature was mid-30s, but at times we had a bit of a tailwind. The town of Salome AZ has seen better days as had the motel was stayed at, but it was clean, comfortable and accommodating so it was another great day.

Glad to see the Colorado still has water in it! glad also to get your blogs. Keep it up!!
